Live Updates: California wildfires rage in Orange County, spurring massive evacuations

The Silverado and Blue Ridge fires started on Monday

Tens of thousands of people in Southern California have been forced to evacuate due to two wildfires that are raging virtually uncontained.

Utility Southern California Edison said Monday it's equipment may have sparked the largest blaze, the Silverton Fire. The fire severely injured two firefighters and forced evacuation orders for roughly 100,000 people

It broke out in Orange County, located just south of Los Angeles, before growing to over 11 square miles.

Another blaze, the Blue Ridge Fire, grew to some 6,600 acres by Monday night as it threatened hundreds of homes in Yorba Linda.
